Filmmaker iServalan has joined forces with Lounges TV for a series of musical animations.
The animations make up part of the Immersion book series which is a science-fiction extravaganza in experimental and creative moving image.
iServalan is a film school graduate from the University of Edinburgh where she completed a Master's degree in the mid 2000s.
'My new work uses AI to alter my body and face as I create cartoons from dance and movement. I always wanted to be a dancer, but my life took a different turn. But I still do ballet and I compose a lot of cerebral dance music for the Tale Teller Club. The animated characters in the Immersion films allow me to channel my dancing desires into a new and exciting medium of fantasy and abstract film. Movement is really exciting when you begin to abstract it. You get to be really creative. I become the orchestrator of each beat in audio as well as image. It can be really thrilling.'
iServalan is also the music maestro behind the Tale Teller Club who set out their clear goals in 2020 when they were founded with funding from the Future's Venture Foundation.
New films are uploaded each week and explore the story of Renyke who finds himself in a strange world set in the future with a rat to assist him navigate the strangers in his midst.
